Membership Terms & Conditions
Membership in IMC is subject to the following terms and conditions.
Violation of these terms and conditions may result in termination of membership.
- Eligibility
- All members must be at least 18 years of age.
- Membership
- Membership is by invitation only.
- Individuals wanting to be considered for membership may submit a nomination.
- Only individuals who have a record of exceptional achievement in fields relating to interactive and/or online media are considered for membership.
- The term "exceptional achievement" means recognition by reputable industry publications or award programs, and/or an unusually impressive body of work.
- Membership nominations are subject to review by IMC.
- Not all nominations result in membership.
- IMC reserves the right to reject any nomination for any reason.
- A membership is valid for one year.
- A member can cancel their membership at any time.
- IMC reserves the right to cancel any membership at any time for any reason.
- Renewal of Membership
- IMC reviews each membership once a year for the purpose of renewal.
- Membership renewals are subject to approval by IMC.
- Not all members are approved for membership renewal.
- IMC reserves the right to deny any membership renewal for any reason.
- “Good Standing”
- Members are required to maintain a status of good standing at all times.
- Good standing means:
- the membership is active;
- the member is not violating these terms and conditions; and,
- the member consistently adheres to high standards of professional and personal conduct.
- Members who are deemed by IMC to not meet the good standing standard may be subject to termination of membership.
- Dues/Fees
- There are no dues or other payments required for membership. Membership is free of charge.
- Members may be required to pay a fee for optional IMC-offered services such as event tickets.
- IMC reserves the right to charge membership dues at any time.
- Should IMC begin charging dues, existing members will be waived any and all membership fees for two annual renewal periods (i.e., the remaining time on his/her current membership year plus one year).
- IMA Voting Privileges
- All IMC members are annual judges for the IMA awards program.
- IMA, in coordination with IMC, selects active judges for the awards program.
- Not all IMC members serve as active judges.
- Active judges must undergo a screening and training process.
- Judges must adhere to IMA judging systems and guidelines.
- In terms of avoiding conflicts of interest:
- Active judges must recuse themselves from assignments that may present a conflict of interest, or that may otherwise call into question the integrity or impartiality of the judging process.
- Active judges wanting to submit entries to the awards program may do so only after requesting and receiving clearance from IMA, in coordination with IMC.
- Annual judges are permitted to submit entries to the awards program freely and without clearance from IMA or IMC.
- Member Information Displayed on IMC Site
- Personal information of members, such as first and last names, employer name, job title, and country of residence, may be listed on IMC web pages.
- Member information must be approved by IMC before appearing on the IMC site.
- IMC will remove or edit personal information on IMC web pages upon the member's request.
- IMC reserves the right to remove or edit members' personal information on IMC web pages at any time for any reason.
- Events, Meetings and Other Activities
- IMC will endeavor to sponsor and/or organize at least one event/meeting for members each calendar year, but the occurrence of any such events/meetings is not guaranteed.
- IMC events will take place in New York City, unless otherwise noted.
- Personalized E-mail Address
- Under an agreement with IMA, IMC members are offered a personal IMA e-mail address (i.e., your.name@ima.com).
- Members who use the @ima.com e-mail address must (1) use the address for good and honorable purposes; and, (2) remain in good standing.
- Prohibited uses of @ima.com e-mail addresses include, but are not limited to, spamming, distribution of viruses, impersonation, harrassment, and illegal activity.
- Any uses of the @ima.com e-mail address for prohibited actions will result in immediate cancelation of the account and possible termination of membership.
- Each e-mail account is valid for one year or the duration of the membership, whichever is shorter.
- Upon expiration, the member may renew the account for another year, subject to IMC approval.
- IMC and/or IMA reserve the right to charge a fee for this service.
- IMC and/or IMA reserve the right to terminate a member's e-mail service at any time for any reason.
- IMC and/or IMA reserve the right to deny renewal of an e-mail address upon expiration.
- Use of the IMA e-mail service may be subject to additional terms and conditions.
- Member Use of IMC Brand Assets and Other Resources
- Members are permitted to use the IMC member logo to publicize and/or promote their membership while they are members in good standing.
- Alterations to the logo are not permitted, except for sizing adjustments.
- The IMC member logo, as with all IMC brand assets, may not be transferred or distributed to third parties without prior authorization from IMC.
- IMC brand assets must be used only for good and honorable purposes, such as publicizing a membership on a personal website, business card or in an e-mail signature.
- The terms and conditions of organizing an event using IMA branding and other resources are determined on a case-by-case basis. A member interested in organizing an IMC event should contact us.
- Additional Reserved Rights
- IMC reserves the right to determine whether or not a violation of these terms and conditions has occurred.
- IMC reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions at any time.
