IMC members are leaders and experts in web-related fields, such as website design, application development, usability engineering, privacy protection, e-commerce security, accessibility, standards, advertising, publishing, and corporate communications.

IMC is the primary sponsor and governing body of the Interactive Media Awards (IMA), an international awards program recognizing excellence in web design and development. IMC members serve as judges for the IMA awards.
